Since, this is a newly added program we are unable to go through ERAS matching and looking for strong applicants who has completed ESIR ready for OUTSIDE ERAS MATCHING at PGY6 level.

The IR program at Saint Louis University focusses on Vascular Interventions and Interventional Oncology. Rotations at a tertiary academic center, a community hospital, VA medical center and pediatric hospital. This exposure to a diverse range of patients, disease processes and high-end Interventions provides great training for graduating residents who would later seek job opportunities at an academic center or a private practice setting.

SLU IR program is rapidly growing and currently have 9 IR faculty and 6 APPs Advanced Providers (3 Full time and 3 part time). APPs help on consults, clinics, and most of vascular access, while the resident can focus on all complex cases and education.

Spectrum includes all breath and width of IR practice strong enough to create strong future IR professional. Salient features include Level 1 Trauma, Liver/Kidney Transplant, 2500 + clinic visits, 8000 + procedures, including 120 + Y90 (SIR + Thera), 40 + TIPS, 150 + ablation 250 + embolizations, 40 + PE thrombectomy/thrombolysis; 30+ PAE, etc.

Specialty clinics include women’s health (UFE/Varicose vein/Pelvic congestion), men’s health (PAE/Varicocele), Oncology (Liver/Lung/Kidney tumors), pediatric vascular malformation, wound care clinic, limb salvage program and interventional pain.

Strong teaching presence with support from DR program, MS3 and MS4 (function like residents in rounding, clinic and assisting). Two dedicated Research Nurses for research support.

Oncological procedures and emergency interventions have been a strength of the program. Over the past few years our focus on vascular interventions has resulted in an exponential increase in complex interventions for arterial and venous disease. SLU IR is one of the few centers that has been performing Prostate Artery Embolization for the past 8 years. A focus on Interventional pain at the community hospital and vascular malformations at the pediatric hospital completes an all-round experience for graduating residents.

The hospital serves a diverse population from the inner city, the metropolitan area and a 200-mile referral radius. St. Louis is an urban center with a population of 2½ million and ample cultural, sports, and entertainment opportunities.

Saint Louis University is an affirmative action, equal opportunity employer and encourages nominations and applications from women and minorities.
