Marshall University is a major University Medical Center located in Huntington, West Virginia. The
cancer program is growing and developing because it is merging the two hospitals in Huntington, Cabell
Huntington Hospital and Saint Mary's Medical Center. The program offers NCI-sponsored protocols as
well as some industry-supported trials. This will be an academic appointment.
We are planning to update our gynecologic oncology brachytherapy equipment and start a
radioisotope program shortly. There are multidisciplinary tumor boards in gastroenterology, sarcoma,
breast cancer, lung cancer, and gynecologic oncology. The BrainLab program is used for stereotactic
treatment of the brain and spine, and the Varian TrueBeamis used for our other stereotactic
treatments. There is an active high-dose-rate brachytherapy program.
