Bassett Healthcare Network, a progressive, academic health system in central New York is seeking a part-time 3 days per week (0.60) BC/BE Radiation Oncologist Physician.  

 Cancer Treatment Center locations:

o    Bassett Medical Center, 1 Atwell Road, Cooperstown, NY

o    Bassett Cancer Institute at FoxCare, 1 FoxCare Drive, Oneonta, NY

Job Description & Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will work as an important member of a multidisciplinary team to provide patient oriented care in an environment that fosters teamwork, collaboration, independence and puts patient safety first. The Radiation Oncology Department is accredited by ASTRO APEx through 2028. 

        Full spectrum of radiation oncology services include:

o  IMRT, IGRT, 3D conformal therapy, SRS, SBRT, SGRT, low dose and high dose rate brachytherapy, respiratory gating, and radiopharmaceuticals

        Equipment at Cooperstown Campus:

o  Varian TrueBeam, Phillips Big Bore 16-slice CT simulator, Bravos multichannel HDR afterloader, Eclipse planning system and ARIA electronic record and dosimetry services

        Equipment in Oneonta:

o  Varian 23ix and dosimetry services with a plan for upgrades

        Clinical trials onsite from major groups (ex. NRG, SWOG, etc.) and also industry sponsored trials

        3 day work week – coverage includes both Cancer Treatment Centers in Cooperstown and Oneonta 

        Practice at a cancer center accredited by the American College of Surgeons as a Comprehensive Community Cancer Center since 1947

        Collaborate with medical oncologists, surgeons, radiologists, pathologists and other specialists through multidisciplinary tumor boards 

        Utilize a fully integrated Epic electronic medical record across the entire health system

        Become part of a physician-led, closed medical staff of more than 500 physicians and advanced practice clinicians committed to delivering high-quality,      patient-centered care
