Geisinger Laboratory Medicine seeks a board-eligible/board-certified cytopathologist. Additional expertise in head and neck or pulmonary pathology is desirable.
AT A GLANCE: • Integrated pathology services within Geisinger practice in a sub-specialty model • Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine academic appointment and research opportunities available • Extensive panel of immunohistochemical stains and advanced ancillary testing including organ specific NGS testing performed in house • Teaching responsibilities include medical students, pathology residency and well-established cytopathology fellowship program • Annual volumes: approximately 98,000 surgical pathology cases, 45,000 cytopathology cases including 15,000 NonGYN and 30,000 GYN Pap tests • 44 pathologists and PhDs on staff, including 9 cytopathologists and 9 cytotechnologists • Three hospital sites have dedicated Fine Needle Aspiration Services for pathologist-performed FNAs. All sites support rapid on-site evaluation (ROSE) with use of telecytology. • Extensive panel of immunohistochemical stains and advanced ancillary testing including FISH and organ specific NGS testing performed in house • Cytology quality management with fully automated real-time dashboards
