About the opportunity

Southern Cross University’s Faculty of Health is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer, Lecturer or Associate Lecturer in Occupational Therapy to work collaboratively with a team of academics to deliver the University’s Occupational Therapy programs. Applications are open for Teaching and Research or Teaching Scholar profiles. Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Support the Faculty’s Occupational Therapy program through student centred teaching practice;
  • Contribute to the research strengths of the discipline and profile of the university through publications and research grants; and
  • Collaborate with professional bodies to develop innovative teaching programs that enhance the student learning experience and their employability.

About you

The successful applicant will possess a PhD or significant progress towards completion of a PhD, registration or eligibility to obtain registration, as an Occupational Therapist with AHPRA and clinical experience. More specifically, you will have:

  • Demonstrated capacity to teach theoretical topics in Occupational Therapy at an undergraduate and postgraduate level;
  • Ability to develop innovative course material and work in blended and online environments; and
  • A growing research track record, as evidenced by success in research grants and publication output.

Additional criteria for an appointment at Level C:

  • Proven experience in curriculum and/or course design; and
  • Proven ability to attract research funding.

Salary and benefits

  • Part-time (90%), continuing (permanent)
  • Located at either Coffs Harbour or Gold Coast. Generous relocation support available.
  • Academic Level A, B or C.
    • The base salary for a 90% Academic Level A ranges from $64,555 - $86,917 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $101,692.
    • The base salary for a 90% Academic Level B ranges from $91,390- $108,161 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $126,548.
    • The base salary for a 90% Academic Level C ranges from $111,510- $128,278 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $150,085.
