Description

We seek a skilled Radiation Therapist for our established skin cancer electronic brachytherapy/Mohs surgery program utilizing the Elekta Xoft Axxent Electronic Brachytherapy machine.

This position plays a critical role in the delivery of electronic brachytherapy for patients with non-melanoma skin cancer. The Radiation Therapist will work closely with our clinical team in treatment preparation, patient care, documentation, equipment readiness, and the day-to-day operation of the program.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assist with patient consultations, simulations, and treatment preparation.
• Prepare the Elekta Xoft system and associated software for scheduled treatments.
• Coordinate patient treatment logistics and clinic workflow.
• Assist with the safe and accurate delivery of prescribed electronic brachytherapy treatments.
• Complete treatment charting and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Schedule and coordinate patients throughout their treatment course.
• Verify equipment, applicators, accessories, and treatment supplies are available and ready for use.
• Monitor inventory and coordinate ordering of necessary consumables.
• Follow established radiation safety, quality assurance, and treatment protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians, medical physics, and clinical staff to maintain an efficient and patient-focused treatment program.
• Maintain compliance with applicable practice policies and state and federal requirements.

About the Program

Our skin cancer treatment program utilizes the Elekta Xoft Axxent Electronic Brachytherapy System, a specialized platform designed to deliver localized, low-energy radiation therapy for appropriately selected patients with non-melanoma skin cancer.

The Radiation Therapist or technician is an integral part of the multidisciplinary team responsible for ensuring treatments are delivered safely, accurately, efficiently, and with an exceptional level of patient care.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited radiation therapy program preferred. 
• Current ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy (R.T.(T)) preferred
• Current or eligible for Washington State certification as a Therapeutic Radiologic Technologist
• Strong attention to detail and patient safety
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to coordinate multiple aspects of patient therapy
• Experience with electronic brachytherapy, brachytherapy, or dermatologic radiation therapy is preferred
