Radiation Therapist R.T.(T)(ARRT)
Requirements
As a Licensed Radiation Therapist R.T.(T)(ARRT), you will be responsible for administering superficial radiation therapy treatments to patients in accordance with the prescription defined by the Dermatologist.
Responsibilities
- Verifies and administers prescribed doses of SRT radiation to the specific sites.
- Position patients for treatment using immobilization devices and equipment.
- Monitor patients during treatment to ensure their safety and comfort.
- Maintain accurate records of treatment plans and patient progress. Enter data into the computer and set controls to operate and adjust equipment and regulate dosage in accordance with the prescription.
- Conduct most treatment sessions independently and under the general direction of the patients physician.
- Assist the Dermatologist in localization and simulation and documentation of the lesion being treated and plan and adjust treatment protocols.
- Prepare and construct custom protection devices for patient treatment.
- Educate, prepare and reassure patients about the treatment process and reinforcing physician advice regarding treatment reactions and post-treatment care.
- Performs daily warm-up and QA of the SRT machine prior to the start of treatments each day as prescribed by manufacturer.
- Follow principles of radiation protection for the patient, self and others.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Current Active License in the State of Florida
- Graduate of an Accredited Program for Radiation Therapy
- Strong attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills.
