Join Our Team as a Radiation Oncology Nurse Job Description: - Are you passionate about oncology and dedicated to providing exceptional patient care? - We are looking for a skilled Radiation Oncology Nurse to be an integral part of our collaborative Radiation Oncology Team. Key Responsibilities: - Assess and provide nursing interventions for patients experiencing challenges related to cancer. - Teach, counsel, and support patients and families in coping with diagnoses and treatment plans. - Assist the Radiation Oncologist in evaluating and examining patients. - Serve as the crucial liaison between Radiation Oncology, hospitals, departments, and physician groups. - Coordinate effective patient care across interdisciplinary teams. - Make appropriate referrals for recovery, rehabilitation, nursing home care, hospice, and nutritional services. Qualifications: - Current RN license in good standing in Colorado. - BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association. - Minimum of 2 years of experience specifically in Radiation Oncology (not Medical Oncology). Skills Required: - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinic environment. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a multidisciplinary team. - Highly organized with flexibility to adapt to changing situations. - Knowledge and skills to care for diverse patient populations, including various age groups and cultural backgrounds. - Up-to-date with current trends, procedures, and protocols in radiation oncology and internal medicine.
